We live like this..

The scene is several years ago, the bathroom of a friend's home on the western coast of Ireland. The shelf along their bathtub contained a multitude of fun stuff: bubble baths, bathing gels, squishy sponges, playtoys for their four-year-old daughter. I was tired after our long journey from Philadelphia. Taking a bath was just the ticket for relaxing into vacation mode.

I loved the name of one of the brand of bathing goodies -- "We Live Like This." The pretty clear plastic package contained soap "confetti" designed for dropping into the hot water and swirling about for a moment of riotous color and then a soft bath in a delicately scented tub.

I love that. We Live Like This. Every day should be a vacation. I'm drifting right now into my memories, of that moment, of the peace I felt for a few minutes soaking in the tub and readjusting to life on earth.
